Helly Hansen is showcasing four pieces from its ski collection, alongside a promotion offering a complimentary one-day ski pass with the purchase of an eligible jacket or pair of pants. The pass can be used at one of more than 80 participating ski resorts worldwide.

The updated Men’s Alpha and Women’s Alphelia resort jackets use upgraded Lifaloft synthetic insulation, which the company says is lighter and warmer while remaining breathable and water-resistant. Features include a detachable hood compatible with helmets, a powder skirt, underarm vents and a ski-pass pocket. The jackets also have a Life Pocket+ designed to help preserve phone battery life in cold conditions and a RECCO Advanced Rescue System to aid search efforts in an emergency.

Helly Hansen’s best-selling ski pants combine a two-way stretch construction with a Helly Tech Performance shell intended to keep precipitation out while releasing moisture. Primaloft insulation provides warmth, and long thigh zippers allow wearers to vent heat during exertion or in warmer conditions.

The collection also includes a grid-pattern fleece midlayer designed to retain heat while staying breathable as temperatures and activity levels change. A chest pocket and slim profile complete the design. The Odin gloves, developed with ski patrol teams, are waterproof and breathable, with Primaloft Black Eco insulation, fleece lining and reinforced areas on the palms and forefingers for grip and durability. Carabiner and finger loops help secure them when they are not being worn.

Founded in Norway in 1877, Helly Hansen makes outdoor apparel and equipment, including performance ski clothing and technical sailing gear. The article also notes Norway’s historical connections to skiing, including the Norwegian origin of the word “ski” and the Sami people’s use of skis for hunting and travel.
