The World Health Organization (WHO) and the European Investment Bank’s EIB Global signed a €10 million grant agreement to strengthen public health in Lebanon. The agreement was signed on 6 March 2025 at the EIB Group Forum in Luxembourg by WHO Director-General Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus and EIB Vice-President Thomas Östros.
The initiative will support the re-establishment of Lebanon’s Central Public Health Laboratory. It will also prioritize medication and healthcare support for more than 50,000 people living with chronic conditions, including diabetes, cardiovascular diseases and cancer.
